Client Success Story: Oshkosh Kids Foundation

Veteran teacher Julie Dumke shocked the Oshkosh, WI community in 2020, identifying 200 homeless children in the school district in which she worked. We coached her and her board in branding and launching the Oshkosh Kids Foundation, capturing the essence of their mission and five service areas, writing a definitive success story about a single-parent family utilizing the full menu of their services. We created all visual and verbal content at https://oshkoshkids.org, and wrote, designed and provided graphics for the Foundation’s first fundraising leave-behind brochure. By the end of the first year, 150 children were housed!

Storycraft was asked by Fortune 500 consultant Ken Jennings and co-author and Pittsburg Leadership Foundation Director John Stahl-Wert to help increase the visibility and attract more clients to their book The Serving Leader: 5 Powerful Actions to Transform Your Team, Business and Community. We found a way to ride the wave of publicity surrounding a business scandal to accentuate the need for this business ethics gem, and tapped into the rarely reported trend of isolation among executive leaders. The public relations project exceeded expectations, marketing the book to more than 1 million readers.
